Introducing The Apple Core CIC
The Apple Core Community Interest Company (CIC) was founded in
September 2007. We promote the benefits of locally grown, organic fruit and vegetables because they’re good for you, and good for the environment.
Our aim is to create a 21st century, walled organic kitchen garden in Markeaton Park, for the benefit of the people of Derby. It will be maintained as a demonstration garden, showing good horticultural practice from the past and present. Park visitors, schools and community groups will be able to
learn about the fun ways to grow, cook and eat their own fruit and vegetables. |
Special EventsWe organise
Special events such as Apple Day in October, Potato Day in February, and horticultural talks. Apple Day 2011 takes place on Sunday 23rd October in Markeaton Park. |
EducationWe run after-school healthy eating clubs and offer one-off sessions to groups of adults, young people and children. You can book us for your education project. |
